Paradigm Shift

Earth's Precession
During its movement
through space, the earth tilts like a
slow spinning top and follows a giant 25,000+ year arc

Only Once in 25,000 Years...
On Dec 21st, 2012, the earth stood  further from the center of the Milky Way galaxy than it has in the previous 25,000+ years. This was thought by many to mark the beginning of a new paradigm shift for mankind.

A Major Change...
In the new cycle we are experiencing, it is thought that our brain's right hemisphere as well as the Right Hemisphere of Mother Earth will both become dominant. (She has a brain too, you know...) And such a change will result in a change in human consciousness.

The 25,000+ years refer to the completion of a precession of the Earth.

 An Astrological Cycle Also Completes...
The passing of a 25,000 year cycle also marks the completion of a cycle of the 12 signs of the zodiac.  Each of the 12 signs of the zodiac last 2,000+ years.  Depending on the earth's position in its precession, these signs become visible in the sky for that 2,000 years. The visibility differs depending on the viewer's position on the earth.

Although relegated today to the comic section of newspapers, at one time astrology served as a complex tool for analyzing a person's psychological make-up.

each lasting about 2000+ years,

2012 Is Also Said by Some to be Significant Because of its Proximity to the Full Activation of a Mayan Calendar Long Count...
The Mayan Calendar is said to chart the movement of a sacred pulse originating at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. A "long count" wave or pulse of the calendar became fully activated at the end of 2011 or in 2012, depending on which expert opinion a reader may follow.

This Sacred Pulse is said to influence the electromagnetic energy of the earth and everything living on it.

Hunab Ku is said to inhabit the center of
the Milky Way Galaxy and to
be the source of this Sacred Pulse.

The sacred pulse is a separate concept from astrology, which charts human behavior by the regular and consistent movement of planets and stars.

The sacred pulse moves in rhythmic undulations originating outside of, but in harmony with, planetary activity. It's undulations can be understood by observing the movement of a whip.  A demonstration of this is shown in the video below.

The above video gives a very good summary
of how Sacred Time works
from a contemporary view
of the Mayan perspective:

Cracking a whip starts with long, slow undulations and ends with quick pulsations and a loud "Crack." The crack is symbolic of something new being created and is heard as sound. A similar movement occurs during sexual intercourse; in the travelling motion of a serpent; and in the "spine flex" posture of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.

YinYang or Taijitu Symbol (modern rendition)
The YinYang symbol, with it's undulating
center line, is visually illustrative of the Days and Nights
of the Sacred Pulse.

As is the movement of the serpent...
And the movement of the whip...

So too, moves the Sacred Pulse.

It has moved through history with long, slow cycles and now, like the final movement of a whip, has accelerated to the fastest cycle. This is experienced as shorter time between changes in the world.

The Time When God Acts...
The Sacred pulse is thought to involve "sacred time."

Sacred time or "Kairos," is not a new concept. Loosely translated from the original Greek, it means the "right time or opportunity." It is separate from "Chronos," another Greek word describing what we know as linear or chronological time.

Kairos could be defined as rhythm and intensity that increase or decrease depending on the place in a cycle. The Christian New Testament uses "kairos" to describe the right moment when God acts. (More on the definition and usage of kairos can be found at:

Sacred Time Was Of Particular Interests to the Mayan Culture...
The Mayan Culture appears to have understood sacred time. Their calendar is said to chart its course. The Mayan calendar is a thrilling and unusual view of history and time.
